Due to Olympic regulations we are not allowed to have outside concerts for the time being. We will be sure to let you know as soon as we're up and running again. We hope before the weather turns too cold.
We've been shut down!!!
For those of you that didn't hear, the police showed up at our last concert and shut us down for what looks like will be the rest of the summer. Thanks to everyone who showed up, and I hope you had fun. We had some great shows planned for June but they will have to be postponed until we can try again in the Fall, after the Olympics are over and things in Beijing return to a more normal state.
April 26th 10pm - Our first concert starts off with bang. We've got Beijing underground veterans the Scoff making a rare trip out east, blessing us with their own brand of out of control garage. They've only come out of hiding once in 2008 and we're excited to see what all the waiting has been about. Newly signed to Maybe Mars, joining the likes of Carsick Cars, Joyside, Snapline, and Ourselves Beside Me, the Gar, with their original song writing and biting guitar riffs, have won themselves a much deserved love affair with the Beijing music press, critics already placing them above their more established indie and post punk peers. We don't let up either, with dance punk Shenyang import Candy Monster, led by explosive front woman Bianbian, who've already established themselves as a vital part of the Beijing underground. Still coming up with reasons not to come out? Keep trying, this one is on us, yep, free.
May 9th 10pm -
Our last concert saw three up and coming bands and 300 rock fans (in Sanlitun, who knew?) turn our peaceful garden into Bedlam. This one looks to be no different. Xi'an's premiere outfit 24 hour, with indie rock veterans Tookoo, supported by The K, and just to throw you hip hop kids a bone, M2 "El Maya" and Skeewe. Plus 35 kuai Rogue beers to boot.
20 RMB
May 24th 10pm - The final concert in May, and latest effort to shake Sanlitun out of its cheesy over priced meat market dance club haze. A night of blues infused rock and punk with Fireballoon, RWF, the Molds, and BuHaoChi. Gives you a reason to dance, besides fitting in while you check out girls with skirts that any reasonable person would identify as a belt. And with Rogue beers going at 35 kuai a pop, you'll have an excuse for those terrible moves the next day too.
20 RMB
June 7th 10pm - Casino Demon, the Gar, Ourselves Beside Me, Hedgehog
June 28th 10pm - Fireballoon, Candy Monster, Joyside, Subs
